Here's a two-day itinerary for Agra, one of the most popular tourist destinations in India known for its incredible history and the majestic Taj Mahal.

Day 1

8:00 AM - Start your day by visiting the Taj Mahal, one of the most iconic landmarks in India. It opens at 6:00 AM, so you can reach there early to avoid the crowd and see the sunrise behind the monument. Spend a few hours exploring the beautiful mausoleum and the surrounding gardens, and taking in the breathtaking views.

12:00 PM - Next, head to Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located just 2.5 kilometers away from the Taj Mahal. This red sandstone fort was built in the 16th century and served as the main residence of the Mughal emperors. Take a guided tour to learn about its history and marvel at its impressive architecture.

3:00 PM - After visiting the fort, you can take a break and have lunch at a nearby restaurant. There are several options available, ranging from local street food to high-end restaurants.

5:00 PM - In the evening, visit the Tomb of Akbar the Great, located about 10 kilometers away from Agra. This mausoleum was built for the Mughal emperor Akbar and is a beautiful example of Mughal architecture. Spend some time exploring the tomb and the surrounding gardens.

7:00 PM - Finally, head back to Agra and spend the evening at the Mehtab Bagh, a beautiful garden that offers an incredible view of the Taj Mahal from across the Yamuna river. You can watch the sunset here and take some stunning photos of the Taj Mahal in the backdrop.

Day 2

8:00 AM - Start your second day in Agra by visiting the Fatehpur Sikri, a historical town located about 40 kilometers away from Agra. This town was built by the Mughal emperor Akbar in the 16th century and served as his capital for a few years. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to several impressive structures, including the Jama Masjid, Buland Darwaza, and the Panch Mahal.

12:00 PM - After visiting Fatehpur Sikri, head back to Agra and have lunch at a local restaurant.

2:00 PM - In the afternoon, visit the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, also known as the Baby Taj.
